OUR PRINCIPLES

The Mission of Catalyst Ministries is carried out under Four Guiding Principles that overarch all Catalyst Programs:

EVANGELISM

Everything we do begins with proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. We have witnessed how the Gospel changes lives, and how through Gospel of Christ is found forgiveness of our past, peace for the present and security for eternity. We join with the Apostle Paul who said this:

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. Romans 1:16

DISCIPLESHIP

The Gospel of Christ is a change agent, changing the hearts and lives of men and women wherever they are – including in prisons. We understand the remarkable truth behind Proverbs 27:17: As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Thus a key to living the gospel is in discipling others with the Gospel. Discipleship programs are focused on grounding the hearts, souls and minds of participants in the truths of God’s Word.

2 Tim 2:2: You have heard me teach these things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people, who will be able to pass them along to others.

EQUIPPING

We follow a scriptural model of leaders equipping others for ministry. Thus Catalyst isn’t an organization; it is an organism; training living truths that permanently change lives. Moses equipped Joshua to enter the Promised Land. Catalyst equips prisoners to carry the truths of the Kingdom both within the walls of prisons and in communities around WV.

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work, and build up the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:12

SHARING

We seek and serve prisoners by striving for them to come to Christ, be changed into conformity with Christ and bear fruit of His Message. Sharing is a powerful phenomenon, which results in transforming lives in prisons, with families and throughout communities.

Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. John 15:5
